Phi Beta Sigma Founded
Founded at Howard University by nine visionary men including A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown. Established principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service.

Lambda Iota Chapter Chartered
Officially chartered at San Diego State University, bringing the legacy of Phi Beta Sigma to the SDSU campus.

Spring 1979
First Line Initiated
Bro. Ron Lewis becomes the first member initiated after the charter members.
1980s
Foundation Years
Alpha through Mu lines are initiated, building the chapter foundation and establishing the alumni network that continues to support Lambda Iota today.
1990s
Growth & Expansion
Multiple lines initiated throughout the decade, strengthening the chapter's presence on campus and in the community.

Spring 2003
Spring '03 - "The Five Club"
A legacy line that produced the current Chapter Advisor and graduate chapter leaders.
